Wedding transport

Guest transport is the part of a Varanasi wedding that gets planned last and goes wrong first. The arithmetic is unintuitive: a 45-seater at ₹51/km is ₹1.13 per guest per kilometre, less than half the per-head cost of moving the same people in 17-seaters.

Luxury Bus (45 Seater)45511.13₹12,999
Luxury Bus (49 Seater)49571.16₹15,999

What is included

  • One vehicle held on standby for the unplanned run every wedding needs
  • A named coordinator for the day rather than five separate drivers
  • Parking point scouted in advance for anything over 26 seats
  • Multi-day driver allowance quoted up front, including days the vehicle barely moves

The constraint

A 40-seater and larger cannot enter the old city and cannot reach ghat-side venues. It parks at a designated point — usually Godowlia, Maidagin or the venue forecourt — and guests walk. Ten minutes on a map is twenty for sixty guests in wedding clothes.

Worth knowing

The shape most Varanasi weddings settle on

One 40 to 49-seater for general guest movement, one or two 17-seaters for extended family on a different schedule, and two or three cabs held for the couple and anyone who must move at short notice.

Book by September for a November wedding

The season runs November to February and collides with Dev Deepawali on 24 November 2026. Large buses are the scarcest item in Varanasi and commit first — six to eight weeks minimum.

Hold one cab in reserve

Every wedding needs an unscheduled run: a forgotten item, a late arrival at the station, someone leaving early. Budget ₹2,799 for a Crysta on a 12-hour standby day and you will use it.

Questions

How many buses do I need for 100 wedding guests?
Two 49-seaters, or a 49 and a 45. At ₹57/km and ₹51/km that is roughly ₹1.15 per guest per kilometre — the cheapest per-head option, and the guests arrive together rather than in six separate vehicles.
Can a wedding bus reach a ghat-side venue in Varanasi?
No. Buses of 40 seats and up cannot enter the old city. They park at a designated point such as Godowlia or Maidagin and guests walk the final ten to twenty minutes. Walk the route in advance if elders are in the party.
How far ahead should I book wedding transport?
Six to eight weeks for ordinary season dates, longer for the week around Dev Deepawali on 24 November 2026. The larger the vehicle, the earlier it is committed.
