Outstation trips

Outstation work bills per kilometre with a minimum of 250 km for every day the vehicle is committed to you. That second half is the part most quotes leave out and most invoices surprise people with, so it is worked through on every route page here.

What is included

  • All-India permit vehicles, so a state border is not a surprise
  • State permits for Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Nepal arranged in advance
  • Toll and parking receipted rather than estimated
  • Driver allowance stated per day before you book, not added after

The constraint

Short outstation trips are poor value per kilometre. Vindhyachal at 70 km each way bills as 250 km. For anything under about 120 km one way, ask for a 12-hour local package instead — we will tell you when that is cheaper.

Worth knowing

How to check any outstation quote

Take the round-trip distance, compare it to 250 km times the number of days, bill the larger at the per-km rate, then add driver allowance times days. Any honest quote lands on the same number.

Night driving carries the allowance twice

Any day involving driving between 11pm and 6am carries the driver allowance a second time. Build departures around it rather than discovering it on the invoice.

Lumbini needs ID for every passenger

The Sunauli crossing turns back a party that is one document short, children included. This is the single most common way a Nepal leg fails.

Questions

What is the outstation taxi fare from Varanasi to Ayodhya?
220 km each way, billed as 500 km over two days after the 250 km per day minimum. A Swift Dzire at ₹11/km works out to about ₹6,000 plus driver allowance; a 17-seater at ₹23/km to about ₹12,200. GST, toll and parking extra.
Why do I pay for 250 km if I only drive 100?
Because the vehicle and driver are committed to you for that day and cannot be hired to anyone else. The minimum prices the day rather than the distance, and it is standard across Varanasi operators.
Do you cover Nepal from Varanasi?
Yes — Lumbini, Kathmandu and Pokhara, with the Nepal vehicle permit arranged in advance. Every passenger needs photo ID at the Sunauli crossing, children included.
