School and college trips

Institutional groups are the clearest case for a bus. At ₹47/km across forty seats a 40-seater is ₹1.18 per student per kilometre, and the whole group travels together — which matters more for supervision than for cost.

What is included

  • Drivers used to institutional groups and headcount stops
  • PA system on every bus, which matters more than it sounds for forty students
  • Luggage bay sized for a multi-day trip
  • Itinerary sequenced so the group is never split across two vehicles

The constraint

Buses cannot enter Varanasi's old city, so the Kashi Vishwanath and ghat portions of any student itinerary are walking segments from a parking point. For a group of forty that needs a headcount before and after, and about twenty extra minutes each way.

Worth knowing

Sarnath is the easiest educational stop

Direct parking, a large site, the archaeological museum and the Dhamek Stupa in one place. Closed Fridays — build the itinerary around that.

One vehicle beats two for supervision

Two 26-seaters cost slightly less than one 49-seater and are considerably harder to supervise. For institutional groups the single vehicle is usually the right call.

Book early for the exam-season window

School trips cluster in the same weeks, and the 45 and 49-seaters go first. Six weeks is realistic for a term-time trip.

Questions

What does a bus for a school trip cost in Varanasi?
₹47/km for a 40-seater, ₹51/km for a 45-seater and ₹57/km for a 49-seater, plus ₹600 to ₹700 a day driver allowance. Per student that is roughly ₹1.13 to ₹1.18 per kilometre, the cheapest per head of anything we run.
Can a school bus reach Kashi Vishwanath temple?
No vehicle can. Buses park at a designated point such as Godowlia or Maidagin and the group walks about ten minutes. For a large student group, allow twenty minutes each way plus a headcount.
Do you provide vehicles for multi-day educational tours?
Yes, including the Buddhist circuit to Sarnath, Bodhgaya, Rajgir and Nalanda. Driver allowance applies for each day the vehicle is committed, and state permits for Bihar are arranged in advance.
